Group Play

Playgroup placement is determined by the child's age as of September 1st each year, with Co-Leaders monitoring the restructured Playgroups. By changing groups, you will widen your circle of friends within Mothers & More.  It's great to attend chapter meetings and really know everyone there!

Playgroups are divided into multiple groups, "Blanket Bunch" which are infants and children up to one year, "Walkers & Talkers" which are toddlers 12 to 24 months in age, and "Rompers & Stompers" which are toddlers over the age of 24 months.  These playgroups meet weekly, usually in a member's home or, during nice weather, at a park or playground.  We also have a "Working Moms" playgroup which meets semi-monthly.

Finally, there are occasional gatherings for all Mothers & More members and their children to meet in one big playgroup (such as our Family Fun Swim).  Members will "graduate" from one playgroup into another as their child(ren) progress with age.

The Co-Leaders provide the overall structure for the Playgroup program. They assign members to playgroups and handle any issues that may arise. The Playgroup Contact Person handles her playgroup's meeting schedule, and serves as the liaison between playgroup members and the Co-Leaders. The playgroup members rotate turns to act as the Playgroup Host for the week, and provides the play place and the snacks for the entire playgroup. As a member of a playgroup, if, at any time, you feel uncomfortable with a situation, you are encouraged to speak to the person involved at the time, or as soon as possible. The Playgroup Contact Person is another person you can confide in to help resolve any uncomfortable issues. If necessary, the Co-Leaders can also offer assistance with any needed conflict resolution. The best way to avoid misunderstandings is to communicate openly with others.
